Qualifying Events


If you are having a "qualifying event" you will need to come to the District Office/Benefits Department with the appropriate paperwork and complete an Employee Change Form within (30) days of the event date.

The benefit election you choose when first eligible or during open enrollment must remain in effect for the full plan year unless you have a qualifying event, as defined by the IRS.


Examples of qualifying events include: marriage, divorce, birth, adoption, death, registration of domestic partner, change in employment status, or loss of other health coverage.
